ASAT service idea
It is now acknowledged that online technologies are providing hoteliers new opportunities for a better welcoming.
Prospects can somehow visit the hotels upon their reservation, ask questions or organize their stay with concierges and people working in the hotel.
My idea is to develop a multi-platform application to offer the guests once they booked their room, to arrange their room at their convenience.
Think about visiting your room, suite etc. on your tablet (like the 360° views, google street, virtual visits etc.), zoom, look around, and interact with the room. First of all the guests will be able to open/close the curtains, switch on/off the lights, turn on the shower... but my innovation is based in arranging your room at your convenience.

Lock the table by tapping on it, open its menu and you will be able to add the flowers you want, with a card for your lover or order a gift from a partner brand.
It works for any items in the room: - choose the video game terminal for your children's junior suite: Wii-U, PS4(coming soon) or B-box360°; you don't want them to play explicit content games: choose the games they will have displayed with from the hotel's library - choose the amenities you want in the bathroom, you towels color etc.

But the point of this application is to make it more efficient for housekeepers to make the rooms ready. The housekeepers' supervisor will receive before starting the day the list of the specific items to display per room, so they can prepare the trolleys with everything they need.
Once making the rooms the housekeepers will have their own tablet on the trolley with the image of how the room presentation has been asked by the guests, and finally, the housekeepers' supervisor will only have to visit the rooms handling a tablet to verify everything is perfect for the welcoming and the Wow effect.

Housekeeping supervisors turning into CSI experts
Last year, Best Western introduced its "I Care Clean" program for the use of new technologies for cleaning. This short video introduces the new tools housekeeping supervisors now can use.
If you hate finding fingerprints, hairs or other "gifts" from previous customers, you'll love it and wish to stay at Best Western hotels !

Youth initiative for teaching how to be a good waiter through an online game
A collaboration agreement has been concluded between Hospitality Youth Initiative/Hospitality Induction Program and webatelier.net to an eLearning training platform. HYI/HIP program is based on the attitude: “Attitude is everything”. A cornerstone of the training program is an upskilling of Service in the Hospitality Industry. This can only be achieved by the correct attitude towards Service. The learners are undergoing a Soft Skills /Attitude Awareness Course, a Foundation Bridging Hospitality/Tourism/Service course, HIV/Aids, technical skills course and a leadership component.
Currently Angelina Jovic, a member of webatelier team is in South Africa, where she is observing the courses and creating inputs for the game.
The HYI/HIP course has two equally important components:
- classes based on the experiential learning where students are learning about communication skills, soft skills, workplace itself and about themselves
- outdoor activities, like: hiking, abseiling, where team work skills are developed.

eLearning game will cover same elements like HYI/HIP training, by using videos, images, cartoons and textual scenarios. The idea of the game is that students are passing through different levels of complexity, which will lead them from very basic elements of the service to the service excellence. After finishing online training program (eLearning game), students should be able to understand, apply and provide service excellence on the work place.
